Garen Oganni is a master optician, eyewear designer, and entrepreneur whose career in the eyewear industry began at age 17. 

He graduated from the American College of Optics, passed the ABO and NCLE exams, and became an American Board Certified Optician. 

In 1994 he opened his first optometry clinic in Monrovia, CA, and went on to found multiple locations across Los Angeles, including Studio City, two in West Hollywood and three in Beverly Hills (one serving as a corporate office).

While growing his retail practice, Garen discovered a passion for luxury eyewear design. He founded OGANI, a couture collection crafted from precious metals—solid 14K gold, platinum, and sterling silver—often accented with high-quality diamonds. Collaborating with his brother, he developed a patented-like technique to flex gold, improving comfort and durability in high-end frames. OGANI gained international acclaim, sold through luxury retailers and worn by celebrities and royal families.

Garen’s business model blends retail and design: he built and scaled boutique practices, then sold them to fund his eyewear production and new collections. In 2019 he launched ROB MARTIN, a line designed to offer more accessible luxury as gold prices rose. He is currently finalizing a new collection, Sophia Zephyr—centered on color and femininity. Both recent collections carry personal significance: Rob and Sophia are his children, while Martin and Zephyr honor his parents—an enduring tribute woven into the identity of his work.

In 2026 Garen opened a showroom in Beverly Hills, showcasing his three collections alongside a curated selection of designers he admires. On design philosophy, he says: “I respect and value privately owned collections—they’re not mass produced like bigger-name brands, and the quality is far better because each piece receives special attention before it leaves the factory. Eyewear should feel right the moment you try it on; when it does, that’s the piece for you.”
